The History

The League of All Artists and Designers (SorSU-LAAD) was founded by Mr. Shaquille O'neal ​Jeresano, who also served as the first president of the organization. Mrs. Raquel A. Detera an ​instructor at the SorSU-Laboratory Highschool was the first Adviser of the organization. It all ​began with a simple vision: to create a creative group at Sorsogon State University (SorSU) that ​focuses on visual arts and design.

On September 22, 2023, the organization was introduced to SorSUeños during the Organization ​Day conducted by the Office of Student Affairs and Services. This event aimed to showcase the ​various organizations within the university, and SorSU-LAAD attracted over 25 applicants on that ​day.

The organization's first activity took place on October 4, 2023, when it was tasked with ​decorating and designing the venue layout for the World Teachers' Day celebration. Later, on ​October 22, 2023, SorSU-LAAD was officially recognized and accredited by the Offices of the ​Campus Director and the Student Affairs and Services. In the following months, the organization ​successfully carried out multiple artistic and creative engagements.

On June 20, 2024, during the Sorsogon State University - Sorsogon City Campus Recognition ​Day, SorSU-LAAD was honored as one of the Top 5 most active organizations within the ​university.

Today, SorSU-LAAD continues to uphold its mission to serve as a vibrant avenue for students to ​express their creativity and artistry. The organization is committed to fostering both individual ​expression and broader cultural engagement within its dynamic community.

The PAINTBRUSH embodies the organization's creativity and artistry. The FLAME symbolizes the intense passion of the members, serving as a platform for showcasing their artistic abilities. The INNER CIRCLE represents the light that illuminates, symbolizing members' fervent love for the arts. The OUTER CIRCLE signifies the unity and wholeness of the organization.
